Raving Fans - A Revolutionary Approach to Customer Service by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles is a book I suggest everyone read. It not only gives you the outlook and focus to use when dealing with people, but it also raises your expectations for the way you should be treated.
My personal goal is simple - to exceed your expectations and to give you WOW service consistently from start to finish. Below are some of the responses I've gotten from working with buyers and sellers in this challenging market.

I'm a licensed Realtor in the state of California and chose to work with Mark Karten in the purchase of a rental property. Let me tell you, having Mark take care of all the escrow headaches for me was a great relief, especially being a state away throughout the entire deal.

Attention to detail; responding with a sense of urgency; sensitivity; timeliness; client's best interest at heart; followed through to make sure that closure is accomplished per schedule and always followed through on every other aspect of the deal, while keeping me informed. A wealth of knowledge to give a homebuyer, i.e. moving companies, water softener companies, attorneys, and even little things that were big to me, such as how to work the thermostat.
I have worked with Realtors in many states and Mark is by far the best. He is the most professional, market analysis-based Realtor. Mark did a great job with a difficult listing. He sold it one week after our tenants moved out! He updated us every week via email to let us know what activity had occurred.
We now have our home on the market and we are very impressed with all the ways that Mark markets our home. Potential buyers can have a virtual tour before ever coming into the house. He has had an open house, gone door to door with door hangers, emailed other Realtors and has probably done other things that we just aren't aware of or that has momentarily slipped my mind.
We have also purchased another home through Mark and he makes the process seem almost effortless and stress-free!
